Specialized Engineering Support

GAITS provides Federal agencies with a broad spectrum of specialized support and services related to the various engineering disciplines. Our subject matter experts are experienced in the system and component-level evaluation of nuclear weapons, the study of the effects of nuclear weapons, particularly energy transport, deposition, and material response, and evaluation of radiological hazards associated with nuclear materials. We develop test suites for analog, lens, and detector portions of Global Burst Detection and satellite-based telescope systems. GAITS assists clients with the design, analysis, and modeling of various mechanical, microfluidic, and photonic applications. GAITS engineers support the analysis of energy technologies, examining potential costs, benefits, risks, uncertainties, and timeframes. Studies are focused on processing of fossil fuels and production of energy, including alternative power generation systems, fuel processing steps, and competing energy technologies.
